Everyday Life

Willy & Deanna rent a small apartment on the ocean in West Bay.  It has two bedrooms and a loft, which is set up as a third bedroom.  Snorkeling is great, right in front of their porch, day or night.  They occasionally sail or SCUBA dive.  Surprisingly, more times than not, there is enough surf to enable them to body board at South Sound.

On Sunday, Willy and Deanna attend Church of God on Walker road in George Town, where Deanna helps lead worship.  Pastor Alson is one of Willy’s all time favorite speakers.  Deanna has been working full time at the dental office with staff she enjoys very much.  Willy is a plant manager at a precious metals refinery and vaulting facility.

Fishing

Willy tows his boat to the ramp located less than a mile from their place.  He fishes about twice a week.  He uses a 2 hp motor on his sailboat, but leaves the mast and boom in the parking lot.  He has still not caught a big open ocean fish, but gets lots of Barracuda, Snapper, and other kinds of fish.  Willy makes nigiri and maki sushi at home now.

Jiu-Jitsu 

A local gym called Boot Camp Cayman signed up with the Gracie Academy. Willy loves being on the mat 5 times per week with his martial arts friends.  Rener Gracie and Eve Torres came here and put on some seminars.  World Champ Daniel Valverde put on two seminars here.

Cayman Visitors

Some came by via cruise ship, some stayed with us, and some stayed in a hotel.  When visitors come, we like to take them to Stingray City, take them diving and/or snorkeling, take them on our boat, and of course, to the beach.  If they have the time, we encourage them to get dive certified while they are here.

Travel

Willy traveled to North Carolina and Miami for work.  He went to Phoenix and visited his Mom, Dad, and brother Larry, and Austin, Melanie, & Logan.  Deanna went to NYC for Christmas to visit Kirk and Melanie. She went to Tennessee and Atlanta for a dental conference.  She went to the Bahamas to spend some time with Chad and Jamie, and meet Jamie’s mom.

Health

In August, Deanna was diagnosed with a perforated colon, and went into emergency surgery that day.  Just prior to the operation, she was told that she would likely come out of surgery with “a bag,” and have another surgery in a few months.  Thankfully the surgery turned out to be a simple repair.

The Boys

Chad got engaged to Jamie Jones, and has a wedding planned in Quincy, California (Northern California) on 7 September 2014.  Chad lives in Nassau, Bahamas, and sometimes works in Freeport.  Kirk & Melanie live in Jersey City and work in Manhattan.  Kirk works for JP Morgan & Chase, and Melanie is an Optometrist. They went to visit Chad in the Bahamas this year.
